Creating art through the lens. One of many quotes that I seem to gravitate towards. What do you consider photography or a simple picture? Well, I have a few different definitions. Photography is one hell of an art. The capturing and freezing of a moment so perfect you will treasure and cherish forever. In the moment its a quick snap of a cute moment but with time the person, thing or place will age and become a memory. In a good way of course..lets not get dark with it. An example being, taking a picture of a trip you took and then a few months later finding said picture and going back to the amazing time and moment. It can take you right back to the exact spot , the aroma, the people, the emotion and much more. The art lies in the transport. It taking you to that exact place in time with the same emotions you had the second you captured it. I fell in love with the art and story the lens can tell especially since I am not good with my words.
Growing up where I grew up my only sunshine were the pictures I would see in my baby photo albums, magazines, newspapers and online. I kept my dream of being able to portray my world thru photography. Once I moved away I knew I could affect others with my view of the world thru my lens. That’s why I picked up my first camera, the instax square. I took tons and tons of pictures with my phone but I finally decided it was time to take a chance at taking actual photographs. The instant print is what I was excited about it was a moment in time captures and developed right before your eyes. An art in itself. Almost like magic. My first camera spun me into a new world and a voice that I was unable to use the way I intended to. Along with my camera I got a few other small things to complete my small camera bundle. I got a handful of film and a photo album.I was now ready to fully explore and find my voice. After a few years of building on my story behind the lens and feeling more confident and comfortable I took the plunge and found myself going home to unbox my brand new Canon Rebel T7. The journey with the Canon has only just begun. Stay tuned for more. Maybe I’ll share some of my art.
