A Little Love Letter to Photography
Finding my way back to the little things that make me happy.
Well, hello again, little corner of the internet! ♡
It's been a little while since I've sat down to share something here. Life has been doing what life does, keeping me busy with motherhood, responsibilities, and everything in between. But lately, I've been making a little more room for something that's always held a special place in my heart: photography.
I've always felt like I had an eye for it. Not necessarily in the technical sense, because trust me, I'm still figuring all of that out! But more in the way I see things. The little details, the unexpected beauty, the way lighting can completely change a moment, or how something so ordinary can become something worth remembering.
I remember spending hours scrolling through Tumblr, completely captivated by all the beautiful photographs people would share. The colors, the moods, the storytelling behind a single image. Some photographs just had a way of making you feel something. I would find myself imagining how I could capture something similar, but through my own eyes.
And somewhere along the way, I realized that I've always wanted to bring those little visions in my head to life.
A Little More Than Point and Shoot
Lately, I've been picking up my camera more often, but this time with the intention of actually learning the art behind it all.
I'm talking about understanding my camera settings, experimenting with lighting, learning how different adjustments affect an image, and slowly moving beyond simply pointing and shooting.
And let me tell you, there's something so satisfying about finally capturing a picture that looks the way you imagined it in your head!
Of course, there's plenty of trial and error involved. Some pictures come out exactly how I envisioned them, and others... well, let's just say we're still learning. Haha!
But that's the beauty of it. I'm not rushing to become an expert. I'm simply enjoying the process of learning something that makes a little part of me incredibly happy.
A Little Something Called Studio722
With this newfound excitement, I decided to create a little space dedicated to my photography, Studio722.
You can find it over on Instagram at @722visuals, where I'll be sharing some of the moments, details, and everyday beauty I capture along the way.
Nothing too fancy, nothing overly perfect. Just me, my camera, and the world as I see it.
And while Studio722 will be a place to share what I see, I want this little corner of the internet to remain a place where I can share what I feel.
The thoughts behind the pictures, the things I'm learning, and the little stories that don't always fit into an Instagram caption.
So here's to picking up old hobbies, discovering new passions within them, and giving ourselves permission to enjoy things simply because they make us happy.
I'm still learning, still experimenting, and still figuring it all out. But if there's one thing I'm certain of, it's that the little girl who spent hours admiring beautiful photographs on Tumblr would be pretty excited to see me now.
And that alone makes my heart happy.
Until next time, here's to seeing the beauty in the ordinary. ♡
With love,
Sabrina ♡
